CowLifeMcGill at the 14th International Conference on Precision Agriculture

On June 27th, members of our lab were invited to participate in the 14th International Conference on Precision Agriculture’s Technical Tour visit to Macdonald Campus!

At our table “Animal Well-Being” we discussed with participants from all over the world the different types of technology we use to measure and monitor behaviour and the validation process each type of technology has to go through before it can be used in our lab’s research. Different technologies discussed included Biotracking, Hobo accelerometers, Cow Manager ear tags, and contact mats. Participants were especially interested in our new 3D scanner

We had a lot of really interesting conversations with different attendees, some with dairy backgrounds and some without. It was interesting for us to get different perspectives on the technologies use.

We would like to thank the organizers of this event for a fantastic time and all of the participants for being so interested and engaged in the technologies our lab uses.
