I have been surrounded by animals all my life and developed from an early age the curiosity to learn more about them. As years passed by, I became more and more interested in understanding them on a deeper level and started to read books on animal behaviour. From that point I understood two things: I would never stop reading ethology books and I would dedicate my career to studying animal behaviour. I saw in this field of study not only a new way to perceive animals and their capacities but also an opportunity to improve animal welfare on a large scale.
With that perspective still in mind years later, I applied to a Bachelor’s degree in biology that had a major in ethology (Université de Rennes, France). I graduated in 2024 and got accepted to a Master’s degree that specialises in Human and Animal Behaviour (Université de Rennes, France). In the future I aspire to become a research professor, as I would love to share and hopefully communicate the interest I have for this subject.
With my courses only starting in September, I decided to apply for an internship at the Cow Life Lab for summer 2024. I was really interested in the idea of working on cows welfare and learning how it is studied in a lab, as it is a field I only had theoretical knowledge of. I am very glad I made this choice and am thankful for everything the team has been teaching me yet
